Southern rock royalty rolls into Bossier City
Tomorrow night, August 22, the legendary Marshall Tucker Band will bring their iconic Southern rock sound to the Paradise Theater at Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City.
Showtime kicks off at 8 pm, with doors opening at 7 pm. Tickets start at $50.
Known for timeless hits like “Can’t You See” and “Heard It in a Love Song,” the Marshall Tucker Band has been a cornerstone of Southern rock since the early 1970s.
Their blend of blues, country, jazz, and rock has earned them a devoted fan base and a reputation for electrifying live performances. Friday’s show will feature a tribute lineup that channels the spirit and sound of the original band, complete with blistering guitar solos, rich harmonies, and a stage presence that’s pure Southern swagger.
The Paradise Theater, nestled inside Margaritaville Resort Casino, offers an intimate yet high-energy venue perfect for soaking in the band’s signature sound. Bossier Police Jury: Residential planning changes, new shopping center, construction updates
The Bossier Parish Police Jury approved some amendments to the subdivision ordinance, as recommended by the Benton, Bossier, and Haughton Metropolitan Planning Commissions. The minimum right-of-way width for streets with front utilities will be increased to 80 feet, and 30-foot front building setbacks will be instituted.
The jury also scheduled a public hearing on October 1, 2025, to consider approval of an application of Lloyd Dotson Properties, a zoning amendment to change nearly 13 acres from Residential Agriculture to General Business for a proposed shopping center to be located at Two Oaks Storage, 5150 Highway 80.
The jury also reappointed Megan Davis to the Bossier City Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission Board of Adjustments for a five-year term to expire September 1, 2030.
Two videos were shared with jurors, showing the progress of asphalt projects and the ongoing construction of the South Bossier walking trail.

Passport fair to be held at Bossier Clerk of Court's office
Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Speaker Mike Johnson’s office – in coordination with the Bossier Clerk of Court Jill Sessions – will host a passport fair for all Louisiana residents hoping to either renew or acquire a passport.
Any Louisianian with upcoming plans to travel outside of the country is encouraged to attend and prevent future passport issues.

Bossier traffic notice: Lane closure I-20 at Hwy 157 in Haughton
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says that beginning on Friday, August 22, 2025 at approximately 8:00 am, the I-20 eastbound off-ramp (left lane) to LA 157 northbound near the Haughton will be closed.
This closure is scheduled to be in place until approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, and affects only the left lane to LA 157 northbound.
The off-ramp itself will remain open, along with the right lane to LA 157 southbound. The LA 157 overpass over I-20 will also remain open.
This lane closure is necessary to allow for roadway pavement repairs related to the ongoing LA 3227/LA 157 Realignment Phase 2 project at the nearby intersection.
