09/04/2025 11:51 PM Juvenile threatens another with a handgun over FaceTime, Coppice Place, Bossier City. A juvenile threatened another juvenile with a handgun during a FaceTime call, warning him not to come to school. The incident involves middle school students and happened near Coppice Place.
09/04/2025 04:46 PM Hit-and-run reported at Pilot truck stop in Bossier City. A vehicle hit another vehicle at the Pilot truck stop in Bossier City and then left. The victim is waiting in the parking lot and wants the police to contact them.
9/04/2025 1:26 PM. Two teenage females hyperventilating near football stadium, Bossier City. Emergency responders were called for two teenage girls near the football stadium who were hyperventilating. One 14-year-old girl was unable to move but was still breathing. (Location undisclosed)
09/04/2025 1:01 PM. An alligator was reported in the roadway near the nursing home pond. A caller reported an alligator in the roadway near a nursing home pond in Bossier City. Responders are checking around Cane's Landing Drive to find it.
09/04/2025 12:30 PM. Suspicious vehicle parked near Bodcau Dam property. Caller reports a suspicious dark blue or gray truck parked in the driveway of a property near Bodcau Dam, where no one is expected.
09/04/2025 08:27 AM FedEx truck swerves and throws trash on I-20 Eastbound. A FedEx truck was reported swerving within its lane and throwing trash out the window while driving eastbound on I-20 near the weigh station.
09/04/2025 07:22 AM. Vehicle wheels and tires were stolen at an apartment complex on Airline Drive. Police responded to a report that a vehicle had all its wheels and tires stolen during the night. The car was found resting on blocks in an apartment complex.
Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office seeks to identify suspects in stolen credit card case
The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for two individuals wanted for questioning in connection with an ongoing investigation into a stolen credit card case.
A stolen credit card was recently used at multiple locations throughout Bossier Parish, BPSO says. Investigators have obtained surveillance images of two persons of interest from the Dollar General Store in Doyline, where one of the fraudulent transactions occurred.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who recognizes these individuals, or who has information regarding their whereabouts, to contact detectives at (318) 965-3418 or Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
BPCC expands culinary training with new evening classes
Bossier Parish Community College will offer new evening classes for culinary students, beginning September 11, 2025. This fast-paced, flexible option is designed to support working individuals who are passionate about entering or advancing in the culinary and hospitality industries.
The cohort will include the following courses:
CULA 120 – Food Preparation Principles
CULA 125 – Basic Skills Development
CULA 130 – The Hospitality Industry
Students enrolled in these courses can also earn the Certified Kitchen Cook credential from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, a nationally recognized certification that enhances job readiness and professional credibility.
“The launch of this evening cohort is an exciting milestone for our Culinary Arts program and a fitting way to celebrate Chef Appreciation Week,” said Quentin Calhoun, Dean of Business and Information Technology. “Our faculty bring more than two decades of industry expertise into the classroom, giving students direct access to the skills, techniques, and professional insights that employers value most. By offering a flexible evening option, we are removing barriers for working adults who aspire to build or advance their careers in the culinary and hospitality fields. This program reflects BPCC’s commitment to workforce innovation and to meeting the needs of both students and industry partners.”
Enrollment is limited to 15 students to ensure an immersive and hands-on learning environment.
