Bossier City weekend: The fall festival season is back!
The fall festival season is back! The ArkLaTex is back in show mode beginning today and for two consecutive weekends, September 25-28 & October 2-5, 2025, as the 49th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival launches.
Festival Plaza in Shreveport will be the home to art, music, food, and fun. With live music and entertainment on multiple stages, the Revel offers musical performances throughout the day for nine consecutive days. And then there are talented visual artists from around the nation showcasing and selling their art.
And don’t forget the fair food!

You can now purchase admission passes online. Choose from a One Day Pass, Weekend Pass, or Reveler Pass and come make memories at the Red River Revel Arts Festival.
National Hunting and Fishing Day Saturday at Bodcau
Louisiana’s National Hunting and Fishing Day will be held Saturday, September 27, at four locations across the state, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.
In Bossier Parish, events will be held at the Tom Merrill Recreation Area at the Bodcau Wildlife Management Area in Haughton.
NHFD is a fun and free family event for all ages. Attendees can try their skills at the shooting ranges, fishing ponds, and boating activities, and learn about wildlife with live animal demonstrations. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends.
While each location’s event varies, all include exhibits on LDWF’s research and conservation efforts, shooting and fishing demonstrations, and exhibits from local chapters of Ducks Unlimited, the Safari Club and the Coastal Conservation Association, as well as local businesses.
NHFD has become a tradition since its establishment in the early 1970s. Since then, every fourth Saturday in September is dedicated to Louisiana’s popular outdoor pastimes.

Lane closure Friday: I-220 westbound
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says that on Friday, September 26, 2025, I-220 westbound between the I-49 and N. Market Street interchanges in Shreveport will be reduced to one lane.
This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for one day, and is necessary to allow crews with SWEPCO to perform work related to moving their electrical line(s) located near this area.
