Bossier City traffic advisory: Overlay work underway on Airline Drive
Drivers in north Bossier should prepare for traffic delays today as road crews continue overlay work on Airline Drive.
The work began Saturday, as contracted crews for the Bossier Parish Police Jury began resurfacing Airline Drive between Kingston Road and Linton Road. In addition, overlay work will be performed on Linton Road, from Airline Drive to the Flat River Road bridge.
Work is scheduled to continue today and possibly Tuesday, depending on weather conditions and progress. Flagmen will be present to direct traffic, and motorists should expect lane closures and slow-moving traffic throughout the construction zone.
“This is a high-traffic area, and we’re asking drivers to be patient and cautious while crews complete this important work,” said Police Jury spokesman Rod White. “These improvements will enhance safety and extend the life of the roadway.”
Drivers are strongly encouraged to plan alternate routes or allow extra travel time during this period.
Bossier City in final four of 2025 American Legion World Baseball Series
The Bossier City Phillies are among four semifinalists in the 2025 American Legion World Baseball Series. The game will be on ESPNU tonight.
After three straight days of pool play caused by Thursday’s rainout, the top two finishers in each of the two divisions — the Stars and the Stripes — advanced to Monday’s semifinals.
Bossier City Post 202 (26-4) finished second in the three-way tiebreaker atop the Stripes Division. The Phillies rebounded from an opening loss to Asheville (N.C.) to defeat Greece (N.Y.) and Chesapeake (Va.).
Bossier City head coach Dane Peavy counted on the experience of 10 returning players from last year’s ALWS participant, and it worked with a semifinal appearance.
Bossier City is looking for its first title and Louisiana’s sixth overall.
Tonight, the Phillies will take on League City (TX), which is seeking a second title to go with its 2023 championship.
All games are played at Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, N.C.
