Tornado Watch in Effect for Bossier Parish

Thousands Without Power Following Sunday Night's Severe Storms

UPDATED 1:11 p.m. 11/30/2019

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Bossier Parish until 7:00 p.m. this Saturday evening.

A watch means that weather conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather, including tornadoes.

“Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon through early this evening across much of the four state region southeast of the Interstate 30 corridor and ahead of a cold front that will be pushing through the region later today into tonight,” the National Weather Service said in a severe weather statement. “Tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds will be possible. Brief heavy rainfall will likely accompany the strongest storms through tonight as well.”

Following this evening’s stormy weather, the weather agency expects a drying trend lasting from Sunday through Wednesday but showers and a few thunderstorms are back in the forecast for Thursday through Thursday night with the arrival of our next storm system.
