Body Recovered from the Red River; Identity Unknown

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies recovered the body of a middle-aged white male from the Red River around 10:45 a.m. today, around two miles south of Red River South Marina.

A fisherman contacted authorities around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday morning to report what he believed to be a body floating in the Red River. BPSO marine patrol deputies were already on the water Wednesday morning working a separate incident retrieving a boat that had sunk in the river this past weekend, so were able to quickly move to the scene to investigate.

Detectives and crime scene investigators launched with marine patrol units to retrieve the body and bring it back to shore.
